We begin at first light on the morrow." With a reassuring pat on my shoulder, Sir Roland led me into the castle's courtyard. "I am Sir Roland, master of arms for this realm." He looked me over dismissively. "You seem a scrawny lad. We'll soon sort the men from the boys." My cheeks burned, but I held his steely gaze. "I may surprise you yet, Sir Roland." The edge of his mouth twitched ever so slightly. "We shall see, Frederick. We shall see. Now stable your horse and be ready before first light. The training regimen here is..." He allowed the pause to linger menacingly. "Intense." </nc-section>
