"I'm Sir Roland, master of horse for the castle." I slid off Thunder's back, trying to hide my nervousness. "Greetings, Sir Roland. I am Frederick, the new squire." Sir Roland's weathered face broke into a warm smile, and he clapped a hand on my shoulder. "Then you'll be needing a few lessons in caring for a destrier like this fine beast. Once he's seen to, we'll get you settled in." </nc-section> <nc-section data-title="Version 3" data-color="blue"> My arrival did not go unnoticed, as a grizzled knight in well-worn armor strode out from the stables. He eyed me with a critical gaze as I brought Thunder to a halt before him. "I'd take it you're the new recruit," the knight said, his voice a deep rumble. He extended a calloused hand. "Name's Sir Roland, master-at-arms here at Drakesford." I accepted his firm handshake, steadying my nerves. "Frederick, sir. An honor to train under one of the king's knights." Sir Roland gave a grunt of acknowledgment. "We'll soon see what sort of squire you'll make, lad. But first, best see to that horse of yours. Warriors and their mounts need to move as one." With a nod, he turned and headed back towards the stables, beckoning for me to follow. </nc-section>
