Hunter, peering at his device intermittently with a steely gaze, breaks the silence.)* Marie: (in French, plaintively) "Je suis inquiète, Monsieur Hunter. Depuis le festival de pommes, il y a deux personnes qui ne sont pas revenues. Il y a une telle panique – même ma PaPa annonçait que ce serait l'année des pommes, ils échapperaient enfin à leurs mauvaises choses." *(Translation: "I am worried, Mr. Hunter. Hunters's fingers rap against the device, the phone's screen lights up revealing an incoming call.)* *(End scene)* --- **Continuing Voice Notification:** *(Hunter rises, pressing the red phone button and stepping away from the table. Attention remains with Marie, the heavy silence mixing with the faint background chirping of birds. She regards Hunter with deep, reflective poise before responding.)* Marie: (in French, somberly) "Je vous remercie, Monsieur Hunter.
