With furrowed brows, she reviews the photos she has taken, adjusting settings and lost in thought. It is a peaceful scene, yet something in her demeanor suggests she is haunted by what she has seen. Detective Hunter walks into the cafe, his gaze scanning the room. Upon spotting Marie, he approaches her table with a purposeful stride. Hunter: "Excuse me, miss. I'm Detective Hunter. I'm investigating the recent disappearances here in Alborn. Were you out taking photos near the woods yesterday?" Marie looks up, startled, not comprehending his words. Her grip tightens around her camera, and a troubled expression takes over her face. Marie: "Je suis désolée, je ne comprends pas. Les disparitions...êtes-vous ici pour cela?" Hunter frowns, clearly perplexed by the French language and unsure of how to proceed. Hunter: "I'm sorry, I don't speak French. Disappearances? Photos? Anything you can tell me?" Marie sighs, realizing the communication barrier, but attempts to explain, gesturing with her hands as she speaks. Marie: "Photos, oui! J'ai vu quelque chose... étrange. Les bois, là où des personnes... ont disparu." Hunter squints, trying to pick up on any familiar words, but the effort is futile. He points at Marie's camera. Hunter: "Your camera, can I see the photos?" Marie understands the gesture and hesitantly turns the camera's screen towards Hunter, flipping through images. Her hands tremble slightly. Marie: "Ici, ici... regardez. Mais, cela ne fait aucun sens..." Hunter leans in to look, but before he can make sense of the images, his phone buzzes obnoxiously. He glances at the screen, a look of urgency clouding his face. Hunter: "Damn. I need to take this. Thank you, miss... Marie, right? I'll find someone who speaks French to help us later." Marie nods, watching him leave, a mixture of fear and hope lingering in her eyes as she clutches her camera protectively. Marie: "Alors, à plus tard..." Hunter gives a quick nod, already answering his phone and heading out of the cafe, leaving Marie to ponder the enigmatic events captured through her lens.
