Melanie: (nervously fidgeting with her camera) "Entschuldigung, ich spreche kein Englisch. Ich bin Deutscher." (Excuse me, I don't speak English. I am German.) Hunter: (looking confused) "I'm sorry, I don't understand. Do you know anything about the recent disappearances in town?" Melanie: (shaking her head)"Nein, ich verstehe nicht. Ich bin nur hier, um zu studieren und Fotos zu machen." (No, I don't understand. I'm only here to study and take photos.) Hunter: (frustrated) "Do you know anyone who's gone missing? Or seen anything suspicious?" Melanie: (looking troubled) "Ich habe... ich habe etwas gesehen. Aber ich weiß nicht, ob es wichtig ist." (I saw... I saw something. But I don't know if it's important.) Hunter: (leaning in) "What did you see?" Melanie: (hesitant) "Ich habe eine Person gesehen, die in den Wald gegangen ist. Aber ich habe sie nicht wieder herauskommen sehen." (I saw someone go into the woods. But I didn't see them come out.) Hunter: (nodding) "Can you show me where you saw this?" Melanie: (nodding) "Ja, ich kann Ihnen zeigen." (Yes, I can show you.) Hunter's phone rings, interrupting their conversation. He answers it, listening intently before hanging up. Hunter: (to Melanie) "I have to go. Can you meet me at the police station tomorrow morning? We can continue this conversation with a translator." Melanie: (nodding) "Ja, ich werde da sein." (Yes, I will be there.) Hunter: (to Melanie) "Thank you. And please, be careful." Melanie: (smiling nervously) "Danke, ich werde es versuchen." (Thank you, I'll try.) Hunter leaves the cafe, and Melanie looks down at her camera again, deep in thought.
