Marie: (looking nervously at her camera) "Il y a eu une autre disparition hier soir. Je l'ai vue, cette femme, juste avant qu'elle ne disparaisse. Je... je ne sais pas quoi faire." Hunter: (approaching Marie with a serious expression) "Excuse me, miss. I'm Detective Hunter. I'm investigating the recent disappearances in this town. Do you know anything about it?" Marie: (looking up at Hunter with wide eyes) "Je... je suis désolée, monsieur. Je ne parle pas anglais." Hunter: (frowning in confusion) "Uh, do you speak English? I don't understand what you're saying." Marie: (slowly and carefully) "Je suis désolée. Je ne parle pas anglais. Je suis étudiante française. Je suis ici pour étudier la photographie." Hunter: (nodding) "Ah, I see. Do you know anything about the disappearances? Did you see anything unusual?" Marie: (looking down at her camera again) "Oui, monsieur. Hier soir, je prenais des photos du coucher de soleil près de la rivière. J'ai vu une femme marcher seule. Elle avait l'air triste. Puis, elle a disparu. Je... je ne l'ai pas vu tomber dans la rivière ou quoi que ce soit. Elle a juste disparu." Hunter: (looking concerned) "When exactly did this happen? And where exactly were you?" Marie: (thinking for a moment) "C'était hier soir vers 19 heures. J'étais près de la rivière, à environ un kilomètre de la ville." Hunter: (nodding) "I see. Thank you for your help, miss. I'll look into this. Can I have your name and contact information, just in case I have more questions later?" Marie: (nodding) "Oui, monsieur. Mon nom est Marie. Je suis étudiante à l'Université de Paris. Je suis ici pour un programme d'études à l'étranger." Hunter: (taking out a notepad and pen) "Okay, Marie. Can you spell that for me?" Marie: (spelling her name) "M-A-R-I-E" Hunter: (writing it down) "And your contact information?" Marie: (giving him her phone number) "Mon numéro de téléphone est le 06 12 34 56 78." Hunter: (writing it down) "Got it. Thank you. I'll be in touch if I need more information." Marie: (smiling nervously) "Merci, monsieur." Hunter: (getting up to leave) "Thank you, Marie. Have a good day." Marie: (nodding) "Vous aussi, monsieur." (Hunter's phone rings and he steps away to answer it, leaving Marie sitting at the cafe looking troubled.)
