A man was waiting there, his armor gleaming in the fading light. It was Sir Roland, the local knight. "Greetings, young squire," he said, a smile on his weathered face. "I've been expecting you." I bowed my head in respect. "Thank you, sir. I'm eager to begin my training." Sir Roland laughed, a deep, rich sound. "I imagine you are. But first, let's get your horse settled. Then I'll show you to your quarters." He took Thunder's reins and led us both into the stables. </nc-section> <nc-section data-title="Version 3" data-color="blue"> As Thunder and I approached the stables, I saw a figure waiting in the shadows. I tensed, my hand going to the dagger at my belt. But as we drew closer, I recognized the man's face. It was Sir Roland, the local knight. "Well met, Frederick," he said, stepping forward into the light. "I've been waiting for you." I dismounted and bowed. "Sir Roland. I'm honored to be here." The knight snorted. "Honor has little to do with it, boy. You're here to train, not to be honored." He looked me up and down, assessing me. "But you'll do. You have the look of a fighter about you." With that, he turned and strode into the stables, leaving me to follow. </nc-section>
