Marie sat at a small café in Alborn, her eyes fixed on the camera in her hands, scrolling through the photos she had taken the day before. The sounds of the apple festival still lingered in her ears, but now she couldn't help but think of the commotion that had broken out just hours ago. Just as Marie was about to put away her camera, a man in his mid-30s, with a stern expression, approached her table. He had an air of authority about him, and Marie assumed he was some sort of officer. "Bonjour?" Marie said, unsure if the man spoke French. "Excuse me, miss," Hunter said, taking a seat across from Marie, "I'm Detective Hunter. I'm investigating some... disturbances in town, and I understand you were at the apple festival yesterday." Marie's eyes widened, and she began to speak in French. "Oui, j'étais là, et c'est affreux ce qui s'est passé. J'ai vu cette personne disparaître juste devant mes yeux. Je ne comprends rien, c'était comme si la terre l'avait englouti." Hunter's expression changed from serious to confused. "I... I'm sorry, miss. I don't speak French. Can you please repeat that in English?" Marie looked at him, realizing her mistake. But how was she supposed to explain what had happened? She didn't know any English. He answered, his expression changing to one of urgency. "I have to go, miss. I'll send someone over to take your statement."
