The bell above the door jingled as Hunter entered the cozy cafe in the heart of Alborn, Minnesota. He scanned the room, his sharp eyes lingering on each patron until they landed on the young Italian woman huddled in a corner, staring at her camera with a mixture of fascination and unease. Hunter approached her table and cleared his throat. "Excuse me, miss. I'm Detective Hunter. May I have a word with you?" Isabella looked up, startled, and Hunter was immediately struck by her piercing green eyes and long, dark curls. She nodded and gestured to the empty chair across from her. "I'm investigating some strange occurrences in the area," Hunter began, pulling out his notepad. "I understand you're new to town. Have you seen or heard anything unusual in the past week?" He'd assumed that as a study abroad student, she would at least have a basic grasp of the language. "Uh, sorry to bother you then," he muttered, preparing to leave. But Isabella's eyes widened and she placed a hand on his arm. "Ascolta, per favore," she pleaded in Italian. "Something terrible happened last night. I saw a man, he was yelling, running down the street. Then he just... vanished. Like he was swallowed up by the shadows." Hunter's confusion deepened as Isabella continued to speak rapidly, her voice trembling. He shook his head and held up his hands. "I'm sorry, miss. I don't understand a word you're saying.
