Selvi sat at a small table outside the cafe, fiddling with her camera. She stared out at the quiet main street of Alborn, the fall colors of the trees a stark contrast to the unease she felt. The scrape of a chair against the sidewalk made her jump. She turned to see a man in his mid-30s approach her table. His rugged features and no-nonsense demeanor immediately made her wary. "Excuse me," he said, his deep voice firm. "Are you Selvi?" She nodded slowly. "I'm Detective Hunter. I'm investigating the disappearance of several people in town." Selvi's eyes widened. "Mere liye kuch pata nahi," she said, shaking her head. "Maine kuch nahi dekha." The detective furrowed his brow, clearly confused. "I'm sorry, miss, but I don't understand." Selvi took a deep breath, trying to find the right English words. "I don't know anything," she said slowly, struggling with her limited vocabulary. "I see nothing." Hunter pulled up a chair and sat down across from her. "When did you arrive in Alborn?" "Ek mahine pehle," she replied before realizing he wouldn't understand. "One month ago. For school." "Did you see anything strange that night? Any people around who seemed out of place?" Selvi's grip on her camera tightened. "Kuch log the," she whispered. "Raaste par khade the. Main dar gayi." Hunter leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "What was that? What did you say?" Selvi swallowed hard, glancing around nervously. "Some people," she said softly. "On the road. I was scared." Just then, the detective's phone rang. He glanced at it, then back to Selvi. "I need to go. But stay in town, okay? I may have more questions later." With that, he stood and walked off, leaving Selvi to wonder what she had just gotten herself into. She clutched her camera close, feeling the urge to flee this strange town and return to the safety of India. But something told her that wouldn't be so easy. Voice Sheet: Selvi: "Mere liye kuch pata nahi" "Maine kuch nahi dekha" "I don't know anything" "I see nothing" "Ek mahine pehle" "Kuch log the" "
