His armour gleamed in the fading sunlight, and his face was set in a serious expression. "You must be Frederick," he said gruffly. "I hope you're ready to work hard." Despite his brusque manner, I could sense that he was a fair and honourable man. </nc-section> Version 3 (blue): <nc-section data-title="The Greeting - Version 3" data-color="blue"> Sir Roland, the local knight, approached me as I was settling Thunder in the stables. His hair was grey and his face was lined with age, but his eyes were sharp and his stance was still strong. "So, you're the new squire," he said in a deep voice. "We'll have to get you started on your training right away." I could tell that Sir Roland was a seasoned warrior with a wealth of knowledge to share. </nc-section> *** In all three versions, the story continues with Frederick meeting Sir Roland, the local knight. Sir Roland greets Frederick and they begin to form their first impressions of each other.
