Detective Miller walked slowly towards the large abandoned old house. The rain fell hard upon the dark and wet pavement. He saw a body lying near the open front door. Blood stained the white porch steps in bright red streaks. A young woman stood there looking very pale and scared. She pointed a shaking finger at the poor lifeless victim. Miller sighed deeply and pulled out his small black notebook. Another night had brought yet another brutal and senseless death. Please sir you must believe me I am truly innocent. Miller looked at her with cold and very steady eyes. The truth would be found in the coming dawn light.
