Maria looks up, startled. She says nothing, gesturing vaguely at the empty seat.

I'm Detective Hunter. I'm investigating what happened at the old mill last night. I heard you were in the area taking pictures.

**MARIA:** (in Spanish, voice trembling)
No sé qué pasó... Estaba caminando hacia el lago cuando vi las luces... Vi algo en el agua... ¿Qué estaba pasando? Fue horrible...

**HUNTER:** (blinking, completely lost)
I'm sorry, I... don't understand. Do you speak English?

**MARIA:** (shaking her head, more distressed)
No entiendo... ¿Por qué me pregunta esto? Solo fui a tomar fotos. Vi cosas raras y ahora tengo miedo. No puedo dormir desde anoche.

**HUNTER:** (scratching his head, furrowing his brow)

Maria watches him, confused, then realizes what he's asking.

She looks down at her camera, then out the window toward the darkening sky.
