<nc-section data-title="Version 1: The Stern Welcome" data-color="red"> As I pulled Thunder to a halt near the stables, a tall figure emerged from the shadows. His armor bore the scars of countless battles, and his weathered face showed the lines of a man who had seen both glory and tragedy. This could only be Sir Roland, the legendary knight of the realm. "So, you're the new squire," he said, his voice gravelly and cold. His eyes narrowed as he examined me from head to toe. "You don't look like much." I swallowed hard, my confidence wavering. "I am Frederick, sir. I've come to serve—" "I know why you've come," he interrupted sharply, holding up a gauntleted hand. "Everyone has a reason for seeking knighthood. Few have what it takes." He turned away abruptly. "See to your horse. We begin at dawn, and I don't tolerate laziness." </nc-section> <nc-section data-title="Version 2: The Warm Greeting" data-color="green"> I barely had time to dismount before a broad-shouldered man with kind eyes and a welcoming smile approached me. His surcoat bore the emblem of the kingdom, and his sun-bleached hair spoke of many days spent training under the open sky. "Welcome, young Frederick!" he called out, his voice booming with warmth. "I am Sir Roland. The steward sent word of your arrival." He clapped a heavy hand on my shoulder, nearly buckling my knees. "You've ridden far, by the look of it. Let me help you with your horse. The stable master will see to Thunder while we get you settled." I relaxed, relief washing over me. "Thank you, Sir Roland. I wasn't sure what to expect." He chuckled softly. "No one ever does on their first day. But fear not, lad. Every knight started as a squire just like you. We'll have you ready in no time." </nc-section> <nc-section data-title="Version 3: The Mysterious Encounter" data-color="blue"> The stables were cast in deepening twilight when I noticed the figure watching me from the far end of the courtyard. He stood perfectly still, a shadow among shadows, his dark cloak billowing gently in the evening breeze. Only when I led Thunder into his stall did he finally approach. "You seek the path of the blade," he stated rather than asked. His voice was low, measured, each word carefully chosen. "I am Sir Roland." I nodded, suddenly feeling as though I were being weighed and measured by something far beyond my understanding. "Yes, sir." His piercing blue eyes seemed to look through me, as if reading secrets I didn't know I possessed. "The castle keeps many secrets, Frederick. You would do well to remember that." He paused, a cryptic smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Some doors, once opened, cannot be closed again." Before I could respond, he turned and disappeared into the gathering darkness, leaving me alone with only the soft whinnying of the horses for company. </nc-section>
