The bell above the door jingled as Claire stepped into Honey's Homemade Bakery. A wave of warm, sugary air embraced her and the delightful aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries made her stomach growl. She breathed in deeply, letting the scents comfort her after a stressful morning at the office. "Good afternoon, dear! What can I get for you today?" Honey greeted Claire with a toothy smile from behind the glass display case. Her grey hair was pulled back in a neat bun and a pink apron adorned her ample figure. She had a dishtowel tucked over her arm, ready to wipe down the counters after the lunch rush. "I'll take a turkey and swiss on a cranberry walnut bagel, please. Served open-faced with a schmear of honey mustard." Claire smiled back, peering at the mouth-watering array of pre-made sandwiches. "Has Five Spice called yet? I'm expecting an order for a selection of scones and cream puffs for their meeting tomorrow." Honey furrowed her brow, then brightened. "Oh! Ah yes, a James Gregory called and left a message for you. Said he needed to change an order for Billings Securities, but to call him back at the office." She motioned towards the small table near the front, where Claire had left her purse behind while waiting in line. "Oh good grief..." Claire uttered under her breath, her smile morphing into a grimace. "I hope the rascal is still there." She set off in a rush for her forgotten purse, wallet flapping and briefcase in hand. "I'll be back for that soon! Thank you, Honey." "Anytime, dear!" Honey called out. "I'll be here! Now you watch out for cars crossing the street, you hear? It's a mad dash at this hour!"
