Once seated, the man set the plate with the scone down in front of him and turned to the woman. "Good morning," he said, his tone neutral. The woman exchanged a knowing look with the baker, who had been eavesdropping on their conversation. With a grin, she responded, "You'll just have to come back this evening for our book club meeting. We'll be discussing a cozy mystery that takes place right here in town." The man raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "Coincidence?" he asked, taking a bite of his scone.
