The flickering neon sign above the "Sugarplum Palace" party hall cast a sickly pink glow on Molly's face as she peered through the grimy window. Inside, a cacophony of shrieking children and the tinny, over-amplified strains of "Happy Birthday" assaulted her eardrums. "This is it," she muttered, pulling a face. "Kiddie-fied hell." "It's the motherload, Moll," Bill said, his voice a gravelly whisper. "Enough loot to set us up for life, maybe even get that time-share in Bermuda we've been talking about." He held up a pair of oversized, fuzzy bunny ears, "And check out these beauties. Blend right in." Molly eyed him with more than a touch of skepticism. "Blending in doesn't involve wearing a costume that screams 'I'm about to steal something'." "Don't worry, I got a plan," Bill said, patting his bulging pocket. "Besides, who's gonna suspect a middle-aged bunny with a bad case of the munchies?" Molly snorted, "Only someone who knows you too well." "Look, the kids are distracted by the bouncy castle and the face-painter. The adults are busy stuffing themselves with cake and trying to look like they care about their kids' birthday." He pointed toward a large stack of wrapped presents piled by the entrance. "That's our target. We'll hit it like a tornado, grab everything we can, and be out before anyone knows what hit 'em." "Sounds simple enough," Molly said, "but what about the security?" Bill pulled out a piece of tape, winking conspiratorially, "Got that covered. The 'party favors' they give out at the door...they're essentially security keys. I snuck a few from the last party - turns out the company's been using the same keycard since the 80's." "You're brilliant, Bill," Molly said, impressed despite herself. "We'll be out of here before they finish singing 'Pin the Tail on the Donkey'." "Just try not to get carried away and steal the donkey itself, Moll," Bill warned, then adjusted his bunny ears. "Now, let's go get our loot." They both slipped through a gap in the flimsy plywood fence, their presence unnoticed amidst the chaos. The air was thick with the smell of sugar and sweaty children. As they approached the present pile, Molly's stomach tightened. She wasn't sure she could handle the guilt of stealing from a bunch of kids, but the vision of Bermuda beckoned. "Alright, Moll, remember the plan," Bill said, eyes gleaming with excitement. "Let's hit this like we're running away from the giant inflatable bunny." Molly took a deep breath and nodded. They needed the money, and besides, someone had to teach these kids a valuable lesson about security. "Right, let's go earn our vacation. And for the love of all that's holy, no donkey."
