Molly and Bill huddled in the alleyway, sipping lukewarm coffee from a thermos as they surveyed the venue. The bright colors and cheerful decorations of "Bouncy's Birthday Bash" seemed to mock them, a stark contrast to their own drab attire. "I don't get why we're doing this, Bill," Molly said, adjusting her black beanie. "Stealing from kids? It's not exactly the most lucrative gig." "Ah, but it's all about the challenge, my love," Bill replied, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Besides, have you seen the guest list? The Smith's kid is going to be there, and rumor has it they're getting a brand-new, limited-edition NinjaBot 9000. That thing's worth a small fortune online." Molly raised an eyebrow. "You're telling me we're risking our freedom for a toy robot?" "Well, it's not just any toy robot," Bill corrected. "It's a NinjaBot 9000. Those things are like gold plated unicorns in the collector's market. We can retire on the proceeds from that one score alone." Molly sighed, rubbing her temples. "You know, sometimes I wonder how we ended up in this line of work. We used to be good thieves, Bill. We used to have standards." "Hey, we still have standards," Bill protested. "We're just... flexible. And besides, it's not like we're going to leave the kids with nothing. We'll leave them a few participation trophies or something." Molly shook her head. "You're a monster, Bill." As they chatted, they watched the partygoers begin to arrive,-costumed kids and harried parents stumbling out of minivans and into the colorful chaos. The sound system blasted saccharine kids' tunes, and the smell of sugary treats wafted through the air. "Alright, let's get down to business," Bill said, consulting his watch. "We've got about 20 minutes before the cake comes out and everyone gets distracted. You take the presents, I'll handle the perimeter. Meet back here in 15 and we're out." Molly nodded, a wry smile spreading across her face. "You know, for a couple of thieves, we're kinda cute." Bill winked. "Hey, we may not have morals, but we've got chemistry." With a shared smirk, they slipped out of the alleyway and into the fray, disappearing among the sea of brightly-colored balloons and screaming children. As they worked their way through the party, Molly and Bill moved with the ease of seasoned professionals, their banter and laughter blending seamlessly into the chaos.
