Molly and Bill sat in a darkened alleyway, their eyes glinting with mischief. A neon-colored sign that read "Happy Birthday Willy!" flickered across the street, marking their target. "So, we're doing this?" Molly asked, her voice tinged with excitement. Bill nodded emphatically. "Absolutely. It's the perfect opportunity. The kiddos will be distracted with cake and pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey." They both laughed evilly before darting across the street, their black clothing blending into the shadows. They slipped into the backyard undetected. As they crept towards the house, they heard laughter and giggles from inside. "This is going to be easy-peasy," Bill whispered as he patted Molly on the back. Molly nodded in agreement, her heart racing with anticipation. They quietly pushed open the screen door and tiptoed into the house. The smell of cake and balloons filled their noses as they crept down the hallway towards the living room where they could hear the birthday boy's joyful squeals. Suddenly, the lights flashed on, and they were bathed in a sea of colors. The whole room turned to look at them, their eyes wide with shock. Molly and Bill stood frozen, realizing they had been caught red handed. The birthday boy let out a sad little whimper as he realized his presents were about to be stolen. "Well, kiddos," Molly said, trying to keep a straight face, "looks like we're not taking any presents today." The room erupted into cheers and applause as the two thieves walked out of the party empty-handed but still grinning ear to ear.
