Molly tapped her fingers on the weathered tabletop, her brow furrowed in concentration. "Alright, Bill, let's go over the plan one more time. We've only got one shot at this, and I'm not about to mess it up." Bill leaned back in his chair, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Oh, come on, Mols, have a little faith. We've pulled off bigger heists than this. Kids' birthday parties are a piece of cake." "That's what I'm worried about," Molly muttered, her eyes narrowing. "These are kids, Bill. You know how hard they are to outsmart. They've got eyes like hawks and more energy than a pack of rabid squirrels." "Relax, Mols," Bill said, waving a dismissive hand. "We've got it all figured out. We'll hit the party right at the peak of the chaos, when the little rugrats are too busy stuffing their faces with cake to notice a couple of slick-fingered thieves." Molly rolled her eyes. "And how exactly do you plan to get past the parents? You know they're going to be hovering around like a bunch of overprotective mother hens." "Leave that to me, Mols," Bill said, his chest puffing out with pride. "I've got the perfect disguise. You're looking at the world's most convincing children's party entertainer." "A children's party entertainer?" Molly scoffed. "Bill, you can barely keep a straight face when you're trying to be serious. How on earth are you going to convince a bunch of parents that you're a professional clown or magician or whatever?" "Easy," Bill said, leaning forward and lowering his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "I'm going to be the best darn balloon animal maker they've ever seen. Ain't no parent in their right mind going to suspect a guy who can twist up a poodle in under a minute." Molly shook her head, a reluctant smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "Alright, fine. But what about the getaway? You know those kids are going to be tearing open their presents the second we grab them." "Leave that to me too, Mols," Bill said, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "I've got a van parked right around the corner, all ready to go. We'll be in and out before the first kid even realizes their presents are missing." Molly chewed her lip, considering Bill's plan. "I don't know, Bill. It all sounds a little too easy. There's got to be a catch somewhere." "Trust me, Mols," Bill said, reaching across the table to give her hand a reassuring squeeze. "This is going to be our easiest score yet. All we have to do is sit back and wait for the little tykes to do all the hard work for us." Molly sighed, shaking her head. "Alright, I'm in. But if this goes south, I'm blaming you." "Deal," Bill said, grinning from ear to ear. "Now let's go steal some presents and make a killing."
