Molly peered through the iron gates, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "You know, Bill, this could be our easiest score yet. A birthday party? Kids won't even see us coming." Bill adjusted his hat, scanning the lavish garden setup. "Easiest, huh? I dunno, Molly. Stealing from a bunch of rugrats? It's not exactly the big leagues." "Oh, come on," Molly chided, nudging him with her elbow. "It's not about the size of the job, it's about the thrill. And think about it, we'll be like the Robin Hoods of the playground, spreading joy... to ourselves." "Spreading joy, huh?" Bill chuckled. "You sure you're cut out for this whole 'joy' thing? Since when did we start caring about the happiness of others?" Molly rolled her eyes. "Since it became a cover for snatching the latest action figures and high-tech gadgets these little tykes get these days. We're adapting, Bill. It's called evolution." "Evolution, my foot," Bill muttered. "More like desperation. But I gotta admit, your crazy ideas usually pan out. So, what's the plan? We can't just waltz in there like a pair of ice cream men." "You're right," Molly said, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "We need a distraction. Something to keep the kids and the parents occupied while we swoop in and out." Bill stroked his chin thoughtfully. "A distraction, huh? What if we bring along some of those robotic dinosaurs you lifted from the toy fair? Kids love dinosaurs, and it'll keep 'em busy while we do our thing." "Bill, that's genius!" Molly exclaimed, clapping her hands together. "We can rig them with a remote control, lead the kids on a wild dino chase around the yard. Meanwhile, we'll be scooping up the presents like it's Halloween." "And for the adults?" Bill asked, arching an eyebrow. "We can't have them catching on." Molly smirked, pulling out a deck of cards. "Leave the parents to me. I'll set up a magic show. Nothing like a bit of sleight of hand to keep the grown-ups entertained. By the time they realize the 'magic' was really us, we'll be long gone." "You really think this will work?" Bill asked, the hint of a smile playing on his lips. "It's foolproof," Molly assured him, her confidence unwavering. "We've got the skills, the gadgets, and the audacity. All we need now is the perfect timing." Bill nodded, his reservations fading. "Alright, Molly. Let's do it. But we split the loot fifty-fifty, and no funny business. I don't want to end up on some 'Most Wanted' list for nabbing a bunch of toy cars." "Fifty-fifty," Molly agreed, extending her hand for a firm shake. "And no funny business. We're a team, and we look out for each other. Besides, after this heist, we'll be the kings of the playground – the stuff of legend." They shared a laugh, the anticipation of the job already sparking a sense of camaraderie and excitement. As they turned to leave, Molly paused, a playful twinkle in her eye. "Just one thing, Bill," she said, her voice tinged with mock seriousness. "Do you still have that old clown costume from your cousin's bar mitzvah?" Bill groaned, burying his face in his hands. "You're kidding, right? Please tell me you're kidding." Molly grinned, the plan already taking shape in her mind. "Oh, I never kid about clowns, Bill. Not when they're the perfect cover for a heist." With their plan in place and their spirits high, Molly and Bill slipped away from the party, leaving behind the promise of chaos and the sweet taste of victory.
