The playground emptied as a light drizzle began to fall. Molly and Bill crouched behind the jungle gym, peering at the bounce house where birthday revelries continued. "Alright, looks like they're distracted," Molly whispered. "Let's move in." Bill glanced at the colorful presents heaped beneath the picnic shelter. "Definitely a pampered brat party. Odds are we'll score some pricey crap." "You just remember, in and out," Molly said. "Don't get greedy." They crept through the playground, armed with large gift bags. The shrieks and laughter grew louder. Rounding the corner, the clown-for-hire spotted them first. "Ah ah! Looks like a couple special guests!" he guffawed. "Let's have the thieves join the party!" Molly flashed a tense smile, pushing past. "Yeah, we're with the piñata fairy. Places to go." "Moooom! The thieves are stealing presies!" a child screamed. Pandemonium broke out as parents rushed them. Bill grabbed an armful of gaily wrapped boxes. Molly whipped out pepper spray. "Drop them you thieving bastards!" a mother shrieked, shoving them. Bill swung his bag, knocking over a cupcake tower. Frosting splattered everywhere. "Cupcake incoming!" the clown warned as Molly unleashed the pepper spray in a wide arc. Sobbing toddlers dropped like flies. Molly and Bill bolted, leaving behind screaming kids and a trampled clown. "I told you not to get greedy," Molly panted, wrenching open a gift - socks. "I didn't know they'd be for brats!" Bill wheezed, holding up a tiara. They dragged their bags through the mud. "BREAKFAST MCDONALD'S!" a child wailed in the distance, the piñata scattering candy. Molly sighed. "Another bust."
