Molly and Bill crouched behind a row of bushes, peering through the leaves at the colorful chaos of the children's party. Balloons bobbed in the breeze, and the sound of laughter filled the air. "Alright, Bill, what's the plan?" Molly whispered, her eyes fixed on the pile of presents stacked under a tree. Bill adjusted his cap and grinned. "Simple. We blend in, grab the loot, and get out. Easy peasy." Molly raised an eyebrow. "Blend in? We're not exactly dressed for a party." Bill looked down at his black turtleneck and cargo pants. "Details, details. We'll improvise. You see that clown over there?" Molly followed his gaze to a clown making balloon animals. "Yeah, what about him?" "We take his costume," Bill said, a mischievous glint in his eye. "You distract him, and I'll swipe it." Molly sighed. "Fine, but if this goes south, I'm blaming you." Bill chuckled. "Deal. Now, go make friends with the clown." Molly stood up and sauntered over to the clown, putting on her best smile. "Hi there! Can you make me a balloon giraffe?" The clown beamed. "Of course! One giraffe coming right up!" As the clown focused on twisting the balloons, Bill sneaked up behind him and deftly unzipped the costume. In one swift motion, he pulled it off and handed it to Molly. "Quick, put this on," Bill whispered. Molly slipped into the oversized clown suit, adjusting the wig and red nose. "How do I look?" "Ridiculous," Bill said, stifling a laugh. "But perfect. Now, let's get those presents." They made their way to the tree, Molly doing her best to waddle like a clown. A group of kids ran up to her, giggling. "Clown! Clown! Make us a balloon animal!" one of them shouted. Molly forced a smile. "Uh, sure! How about a... snake?" The kids cheered as she handed them a long, twisted balloon. Meanwhile, Bill was busy stuffing presents into a large sack. "How's it going?" Molly asked through gritted teeth. "Almost there," Bill replied, his voice muffled by the pile of gifts. "Just a few more." Suddenly, a voice boomed from behind them. "Hey! What are you doing?" Molly and Bill froze. They turned to see a stern-looking parent marching towards them. "Uh, just entertaining the kids," Molly said, trying to sound cheerful. The parent narrowed his eyes. "And what's in the sack?" Bill quickly zipped up the bag. "Just some, uh, party supplies." The parent crossed his arms. "Let me see." Molly's mind raced. "Oh, look! A magic trick!" She pulled a handful of confetti from her pocket and threw it in the air. The parent blinked, momentarily distracted. "What the—" "Run!" Bill shouted, grabbing Molly's hand. They bolted through the yard, dodging kids and parents alike. The sack of presents bounced on Bill's back as they sprinted towards the exit. "Stop them!" someone yelled. Molly and Bill reached the gate and burst through it, laughing breathlessly as they disappeared into the street. "That was close," Molly panted, pulling off the clown wig. Bill grinned. "But we did it. We got the presents." Molly shook her head, a smile tugging at her lips. "You're crazy, you know that?" "Maybe," Bill said, slinging the sack over his shoulder. "But we're rich clowns now." They walked off into the sunset, the sound of distant sirens fading behind them.
