Bill entered the dingy apartment, a grubby backpack slung over his shoulder. Molly was already there, rummaging through a drawer filled with assorted wires and tools. The place was a mess, with maps and empty takeout containers strewn across every surface. "Hey, Mol, you ready for this gig?" "Almost, just grabbing some last-minute supplies. You?" "Yeah, just picked up some new gizmos from that tech-wiz kid. He's a genius, I tell ya. These babies should make our job a lot easier." He plunked the backpack down on the table, a grin stretching across his face. "So, fill me in on the details again. I want to make sure we've got everything covered." "Right, so it's a children's birthday party," Molly explained, her eyes narrowing as she visualized the scene. "Big mansion, lots of guests, and even more presents. We're talking piles of shiny, expensive gifts. That's where we come in. We blend in with the crowd, grab as many gifts as we can carry, and make a discreet exit." "Discreet, huh?" Bill raised an eyebrow. "That's not really my style, but I guess we can't attract too much attention at a kid's party. No guns, no fancy moves, just good old-fashioned sneakery." "Exactly. We keep it simple. I've got us some invitations, courtesy of my cousin's printing press. We walk in, we look confident, and we join in the fun. No one will question a couple of friendly adults at a kid's party." "If you say so, boss," Bill said with a wink. "I'll leave the smooth talking to you. My job is to make sure we can get in and out without setting off any alarms. Those little tykes won't know what hit 'em." "Just be friendly and act natural. No one will suspect a thing. We'll have those gifts and be outta there before they blow out the candles on the cake." Molly pulled out two brightly colored invitations, passing one to Bill. "See? All official-like. We're golden." "You never cease to amaze me, Mol. It's like you've got a magic wand or something." Bill examined the invitation, his eyes widening in mock surprise. "Hey, no kids allowed? That's a bummer. I was looking forward to the balloon animals and face painting." "Very funny. Now stop goofing around and let's get going. We've got a party to crash and some presents to liberate." They high-fived, the sound echoing off the cluttered walls. Bill swung the backpack over his shoulder, the tools of their trade jangling softly within.
