} Molly clicked her pen, tapping it against the legal pad in her hands. Across the library table, Bill drummed his fingers against a file folder, eyes fixated on the blueprint Molly had spread out. In the quiet of the library, it sounded like Morse code. "According to the plan, there's supposed to be a clown," Bill said, breaking the silence. Molly frowned at the blueprint. "Clown? Who cares about the clown?" "Think about it..." Bill replied, "He might be the main act. The distraction, you know." Molly sighed, looking over at Bill. "Bill, we're about to raid a kids' party. A clown isn't our biggest concern here." Bill leaned over the table, "A party's not complete without one. He might have the key to the presents in his pocket or something." Molly rolled her eyes, "You're sounding like an amateur, Bill. We'll have to be in and out within twenty minutes, tops." Bill laughed, "What if he's an accomplice? What if they're using the presents to smuggle some contraband?" Molly paused, before bursting out into a smile. "Jesus, Bill. We never even thought the presents might be holding the real treasure. That's our clever ploy." Bill shrugged, "Yeah, but we'd still have to find out what’s inside. And let's not forget about the kids. So much noise. So much mess. We'll trip up if we aren't fast." Molly sat back, considering, "I can’t believe you're getting cold feet over some kids. They’re oblivious. They'll be having fun and opening presents. They won't notice a thing. Plus, I've got the crowbar if problems arise." "What if somebody gets hurt?" Bill pressed, worry etched on his face. Molly pursed her lips. "Bill, there won't be injuries. We're professionals. We just need to get in, grab the presents, and get out." Bill sighed, "I don't know, Molly. It seems like a low blow to a bunch of little kids on a special day. Like we're the Grinch." Molly smiled, "Except the kids won’t know their presents were ever stolen. Not until it's too late." Bill groaned, "Can't help but feel like we're the bad guys here." Molly stood up from her chair, gathering the plans and blueprints to their heist. "We're just doing what we do best. Making a buck. We'll find out tomorrow, anyways." Bill shook his head as Molly walked away, the tapping of their footsteps echoing in the quiet of the library. But just as she reached the exit, Bill’s voice called out to her, "We're not the heroes, Molly." Turning back to Bill, Molly smirked, "But we're not the antagonists either, if you think about it. We're the plot twist." And with that, she disappeared through the library's swinging doors.
