Molly craned her neck to peer through the bushes, binoculars pressed tightly to her eyes. Bill crouched beside her, nervously nibbling on a piece of licorice he'd found in his jacket pocket. “Look at them, Bill,” Molly said, passing him the binoculars. “Innocent, sweet, completely unsuspecting.” Bill squinted through the lenses. “It’s a kids' birthday party, Molly. Of course they're unsuspecting.” “Exactly,” Molly whispered dramatically. “And we, dear friend, are going to 'surprise' them.” A light chuckle escaped Bill’s lips. “Molly, you do realize we’re about to rob children, right?” Molly’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Not *just* children, Bill. Children with the best loot a thief could ask for – presents galore!” Bill shook his head. “It’s not like they got diamond-encrusted teddy bears in there.” “True,” Molly admitted with a gleam in her eye, “but think of the resale value on some of those toys. They’ve probably got the latest gadgets, the must-have plushies, the collector's edition action figures!” Bill hesitated. “And what’s the plan exactly?” Molly grabbed a crudely drawn map from her back pocket. “Right here’s the house. The party’s in the backyard, but check this out – the presents are all stashed in the garage. See? Easy peasy.” “And what about the guard dogs? The parents?” Molly wagged her finger. “Right here, Bill, is why you need to raise your game. First, no one puts guard dogs at a children’s party. Second, parents will be preoccupied with chaos management. We just need a distraction.” Bill raised an eyebrow. “You have one planned, I assume?” Molly grinned mischievously. “Oh, do I ever.” She pulled out a packet from her other pocket, revealing sparklers. “We light these around the side of the house. It’ll capture their attention for just the few minutes we need to slip into the garage. Voila – presents are ours!” Bill rubbed his chin, mulling it over. “You think it’ll work?” Molly gave him a playful punch. “Trust me, Bill, if anyone’s party planning skills can outsmart these rugrats, it’s ours.” “So, when do we strike?” Molly checked her watch. “We give it an hour. Let the sugar high kick in post-cake. Kids will be running around like maniacs. Perfect cover.” There was a pause as Bill continued to nibble his licorice, lost in thought. “You ever think we might have crossed a moral line somewhere?” Molly snorted. “Bill, our moral line is so wiggly it's got more curves than a rollercoaster. Besides, remember – we’re redistributing the fun. These presents are going to bring joy to under-pampered kids on the black market." Bill chuckled despite himself. “You’re something else, Molly.” “Oh, I know,” she declared confidently. “And don’t you forget it. Now, let’s synchronize watches.” Bill raised his hand. “One problem – I don’t have a watch.” Molly rolled her eyes, then dramatically fished out another from her pocket, slapping it into Bill's surprised hand. “Try to keep up, Bill.” Bill put the watch on, checking the time. “Alright, Captain,” he said with a mock salute, “let's do this.” Molly couldn’t help but smirk. “That’s the spirit.
