Molly and Bill crouched behind a row of bushes, peering through the leaves at the colorful chaos of the children's party. Balloons bobbed in the air, and the sound of laughter and squeals filled the backyard. A large table in the center was piled high with brightly wrapped presents. "Alright, Bill, what's the plan?" Molly whispered, her eyes fixed on the table. Bill adjusted his black beanie and grinned. "Simple. We blend in, grab the loot, and get out. Easy peasy." Molly raised an eyebrow. "Blend in? We're not exactly dressed for a party, Bill." Bill looked down at his all-black outfit and shrugged. "Details, details. We'll improvise. Look, there's a pile of costumes over there. We grab a couple, and no one will suspect a thing." Molly sighed. "Fine. But if we get caught, I'm blaming you." "Deal," Bill said, already moving towards the costume pile. He picked up a clown wig and a pair of oversized glasses, tossing a fairy costume to Molly. "Here, this should do the trick." Molly held up the sparkly dress and wings, grimacing. "Seriously? A fairy?" Bill chuckled. "Hey, you said blend in. Now, let's get moving." They slipped into their disguises and made their way towards the party. As they approached, a group of kids ran past them, giggling and chasing each other with water balloons. "Just act natural," Bill muttered, adjusting his clown wig. Molly rolled her eyes. "Natural. Right. Because fairies and clowns are totally natural at a children's party." They reached the table of presents, and Bill gave Molly a nod. "You distract them, I'll grab the goods." Molly took a deep breath and fluttered her wings. "Alright, here goes nothing." She stepped forward, waving her wand and putting on her best fairy voice. "Hello, children! Who wants to hear a magical fairy tale?" The kids immediately swarmed around her, eyes wide with excitement. Bill took the opportunity to start stuffing presents into a large sack he had hidden under his clown costume. As Molly spun a tale about enchanted forests and talking animals, she kept one eye on Bill. He was making good progress, but then she noticed a little girl tugging on his clown pants. "Hey, mister, what are you doing?" the girl asked, her eyes narrowing suspiciously. Bill froze, his hand halfway to another present. "Uh, just, uh, making sure these are all safe. You know, for the birthday boy." The girl frowned. "But it's my birthday." Molly's heart skipped a beat. She needed to intervene. "Oh, look! A magical unicorn!" she shouted, pointing to the other side of the yard. The kids, including the suspicious girl, turned to look, giving Bill the chance to finish his task. He quickly tied up the sack and gave Molly a thumbs-up. "Alright, kids, the fairy has to go now," Molly said, backing away slowly. "But remember, always believe in magic!" The children waved and cheered as Molly and Bill made their escape, slipping back behind the bushes. They tore off their costumes and high-fived each other. "That was close," Molly said, catching her breath. Bill grinned, holding up the sack of presents. "But we did it. Happy birthday to us." Molly laughed. "You know, for a clown, you're not half bad." "And for a fairy, you're pretty magical," Bill replied with a wink. They both laughed, the thrill of their successful heist making them giddy.
