Molly peered over the top of her newspaper, her eyes darting across the park where the children's party was in full swing. Bill sat beside her, munching on a sandwich, crusts meticulously removed. "We're really going to do this, huh? Steal from kids?" Bill asked, crumbs tumbling from his mouth. "Relax, it's just a bunch of toys," Molly retorted, folding the newspaper with a sharp flick. “We’re liberating future landfill.” Bill wiped his mouth, looking unconvinced. "But why a kid’s party? Feels low, even for us." "Because it's easy. It’s the perfect cover. No one suspects a clown and a magician." Bill sighed, pulling at his clown wig. "I still don't get why I have to be Boinko the Clown." Molly smirked, adjusting her magician's hat. "Because, my dear Boinko, you've got the sad eyes for it." Bill groaned. "Fine, but how are we going to get all the presents out without being noticed?" "That’s where the magic happens. Literally. I’ll do a disappearing act with the presents. You keep the kids and parents laughing." Bill looked around, anxiety in his eyes as he watched the children playing. "Okay, but what’s our escape plan?" "We’ve got the van parked at the back, hidden by the bushes. Once the gifts are secured, we vanish. Simple as that." "And the 'invisible string' trick you mentioned?" Molly nodded, pulling a spool of thread from her jacket. "We tie this to the last gift. As I move them behind the curtain, you pull the string, dragging them to the van." Bill chuckled, shaking his head. "This is either brilliant or the dumbest thing we've ever done." “Let’s hope for brilliant. Ready to transform into Boinko?” With a deep breath, Bill adjusted his colorful wig and painted a wide smile with his makeup. "Let's do this. For the landfill." Molly clapped him on the back as they stood. They strolled towards the party, a mix of trepidation and excitement in their steps. Molly slipped behind a curtain set up for performances, while Bill bumbled into the party, tripping over his giant shoes, earning giggles from the children. "Hello, kids! Boinko the Clown at your service!" Bill announced, his voice muffled slightly by the big red nose. Molly peeked from behind the curtain, watching as Bill juggled clumsily, the children screaming with laughter. She began her work, swiftly and silently moving the presents behind the curtain using her thread trick. "How many think Boinko can juggle four balls?" Bill called out, adding another ball to his act and catching it surprisingly smoothly. Cheers erupted. Under the cover of the noise and excitement, Molly tied the invisible string to the last gift and gave a subtle nod to Bill. As he entertained, she pulled the presents, sliding them efficiently toward the hidden van. Bill took a theatrical bow, his face beaming under the makeup. "And for my final trick—" he paused dramatically, "—a disappearing act!" Molly, hidden from view, tugged the string of gifts towards the van. The children gasped as the last present vanished with a flourish. Bill, channeling his inner showman, pointed towards the curtain where Molly had slipped away. "And voila!" Bill declared amid the awe and applause. "Magic!" As the party continued, Molly and Bill quickly stashed the presents in the van. "So, landfill liberation complete?" Bill asked, as they drove away. "Complete," Molly confirmed, a grin spreading across her face. "And Boinko didn’t do half bad either." Bill chuckled, relief and thrill mingling in his laughter. "Let’s stick to banks next time. Kids' parties are too stressful."
