Molly leaned against the brick wall, her eyes darting left and right as she waited for her partner. The alley smelled of old garbage and stale beer. A cat meowed in the distance, making her jump. Finally, Bill's lanky figure appeared at the end of the alley. "You're late," Molly hissed as he approached. Bill shrugged, his hands deep in his pockets. "Traffic was a nightmare. So, what's the big score you were going on about?" Molly's eyes gleamed with excitement. "I've got a tip about a sweet haul. Easy pickings." "Spill it already," Bill said, impatience creeping into his voice. "Okay, picture this: a house full of expensive gifts, minimal security, and distracted marks." Bill raised an eyebrow. "Sounds too good to be true. What's the catch?" Molly grinned. "It's a children's birthday party." "You've got to be kidding me," Bill groaned. "We're gonna rob a bunch of kids?" "Not the kids, you idiot. The presents!" Bill ran a hand through his thinning hair. "I don't know, Mol. Seems kinda low, even for us." "Oh, come on! Think about it. Rich parents, overpriced gifts, and everyone's attention on little Timmy blowing out his candles." "How do you even know about this party?" Molly pulled out her phone. "Social media, my friend. These people post everything online. It's like they're begging to be robbed." Bill sighed. "Fine. What's the plan?" "We go in as party entertainers. I've got costumes and everything." "Let me guess, clowns?" Molly shook her head. "Nah, too cliché. We're going as medieval jesters." "You can't be serious," Bill said, his face a mixture of disbelief and amusement. "Dead serious. Now, while I'm juggling and you're doing your terrible magic tricks—" "Hey! My magic tricks are great!" "Sure, whatever. While we're entertaining the brats, we scope out where they're keeping the presents. Then, during cake time, we make our move." Bill nodded slowly. "And how exactly do we get out with a bunch of stolen gifts without anyone noticing?" "That's where the brilliance comes in. We stuff everything into those oversized pants that are part of the jester costume." "So, we're just gonna waddle out of there like a couple of gift-filled penguins?" Molly punched his arm playfully. "Don't be dramatic. We'll be fine. Trust me." Bill sighed heavily. "I've got a bad feeling about this, Mol. What if we get caught?" "Relax! Who's gonna suspect a couple of jesters? We'll be in and out before they finish singing 'Happy Birthday.'" "And what if the kids start crying when they realize their presents are gone?" Molly rolled her eyes. "Since when do you care about a bunch of snot-nosed brats?" "I don't! It's just... doesn't this seem a bit much?" "Look, do you want to make some easy money or not?" Bill hesitated for a moment, then nodded reluctantly. "Alright, I'm in. But if this goes south, I'm blaming you." "That's the spirit!" Molly said, clapping him on the back. "Now, let's go try on those costumes. The party's tomorrow, and we need to practice our acts." As they walked out of the alley, Bill muttered, "I can't believe I'm about to rob a kid's birthday party dressed as a jester." Molly just grinned. "Trust me, it'll be the heist of the century. Well, at least the heist of the week."
