Molly and Bill crouched behind a row of bushes, peering through the leaves at the chaos of the children's party in full swing. Balloons bobbed in the air, and the sound of laughter and squeals filled the backyard. "Alright, Bill, what's the plan?" Molly whispered, adjusting her black beanie. "Simple," Bill replied, his eyes scanning the scene. "We blend in, grab the presents, and get out. Easy peasy." "Blend in? We're adults at a kids' party. How do you propose we do that?" Molly asked, raising an eyebrow. "Costumes," Bill said, pulling out a pair of oversized clown noses from his pocket. "We go in as entertainment." Molly stared at the red rubber noses. "Clowns? Really? You know I hate clowns." "Do you want the presents or not?" Bill retorted, handing her one of the noses. Molly sighed and took the nose, reluctantly putting it on. "Fine. But if I get nightmares, I'm blaming you." "Deal," Bill said, grinning. "Now, follow my lead." They stood up and walked confidently towards the party, trying to look as nonchalant as possible. As they approached, a group of kids spotted them and ran over, giggling. "Look! Clowns!" one of the kids shouted. "Great, we're already a hit," Molly muttered under her breath. "Hello, kids!" Bill said in an exaggerated, cheerful voice. "We're here to make your party even more fun!" "Do a trick!" a little girl demanded, tugging on Molly's sleeve. "Uh, sure," Molly stammered, glancing at Bill for help. Bill quickly pulled out a deck of cards from his pocket. "How about a magic trick?" he suggested, shuffling the cards expertly. The kids gathered around, eyes wide with anticipation. Bill performed a simple card trick, making a card disappear and reappear behind a boy's ear. The children clapped and cheered. "Now, for our next trick," Bill said, winking at Molly. "We're going to make all the presents disappear!" Molly's eyes widened. "Bill, what are you—" "Just go with it," Bill whispered, cutting her off. "Watch closely, kids!" He gestured dramatically towards the table piled high with brightly wrapped presents. Molly took a deep breath and followed his lead, waving her hands in the air as if casting a spell. "Abra-cadabra!" Bill shouted, and with a swift motion, he grabbed a large sack from behind his back and started stuffing the presents into it. The kids watched in awe, completely mesmerized. "Wow! They're really disappearing!" one of them exclaimed. Molly couldn't believe it was working. She quickly joined in, grabbing presents and tossing them into the sack. "Hurry up, Bill," she hissed. "Before the parents notice." "Almost there," Bill replied, his voice strained as he struggled to fit the last few gifts into the bulging sack. Just as they were about to make their escape, a woman’s voice rang out. "Hey! What are you doing with those presents?" Molly and Bill froze, turning to see a furious mother marching towards them. "Uh, magic trick?" Molly offered weakly. "Give those back right now!" the woman demanded, hands on her hips. Bill sighed, dropping the sack. "Well, it was worth a shot." Molly nodded, removing her clown nose. "Yeah, but next time, let's stick to robbing banks. Less chance of getting caught by angry moms." As they slunk away, the kids' laughter followed them, and Bill couldn't help but chuckle. "You know, Molly, for a moment there, we really were the life of the party." Molly rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress a smile. "Yeah, yeah. Just don't ever make me wear a clown nose again."
