"Bill, are you sure this is the right address?" Molly whispered, peering through the bushes at the brightly decorated house. "Of course, I'm sure," Bill replied, adjusting his ski mask. "I double-checked the invitation. This is the place." "An invitation? You mean you actually RSVP'd to a children's party?" Molly asked, incredulous. "Well, how else were we supposed to get in without looking suspicious?" Bill said, shrugging. "Besides, I used a fake name. No one will know it's us." "Right, because 'Mr. and Mrs. Claus' is totally inconspicuous," Molly muttered, rolling her eyes. "Hey, it was the best I could come up with on short notice," Bill defended. "Now, focus. We need to get in, grab the presents, and get out before anyone notices." "Okay, okay," Molly said, taking a deep breath. "What's the plan?" "Simple," Bill said, pulling out a crumpled piece of paper. "We sneak in through the back door, blend in with the guests, and when the time is right, we make our move." "And by 'blend in,' you mean...?" Molly asked, raising an eyebrow. "Just act natural," Bill said, waving his hand dismissively. "Smile, laugh, maybe even play a game or two. No one will suspect a thing." "Right, because two adults crashing a children's party is the epitome of natural," Molly said sarcastically. "Trust me, it'll work," Bill insisted. "Now, let's go." They crept around to the back of the house, where the sound of children's laughter and upbeat music filled the air. Bill carefully opened the door, and they slipped inside, unnoticed. "See? Easy," Bill whispered, grinning. "Yeah, yeah," Molly said, scanning the room. "Where are the presents?" "Over there, by the cake," Bill said, nodding towards a pile of brightly wrapped gifts. "Okay, so what's the signal?" Molly asked. "The signal?" Bill repeated, confused. "Yeah, the signal for when we grab the presents and make a run for it," Molly clarified. "Oh, right," Bill said, scratching his head. "How about... when they start singing 'Happy Birthday'?" "Seriously?" Molly said, exasperated. "That's your plan?" "Do you have a better idea?" Bill challenged. "Fine, 'Happy Birthday' it is," Molly conceded. "But if this goes south, I'm blaming you." "Deal," Bill said, smirking. "Now, let's mingle." They split up, each trying to blend in with the crowd. Molly found herself at the snack table, awkwardly nibbling on a cupcake while Bill joined a group of kids playing pin the tail on the donkey. "Having fun?" Molly asked, sidling up to Bill. "Loads," Bill said, grinning. "I think I might actually win." "Great, just don't forget why we're here," Molly reminded him. "How could I forget?" Bill said, glancing at the pile of presents. "Just waiting for the right moment." Suddenly, the lights dimmed, and a woman called out, "Everyone, gather around! It's time to sing 'Happy Birthday'!" "Showtime," Bill whispered to Molly. They positioned themselves near the presents, trying to look casual. As the crowd began to sing, Bill and Molly each grabbed as many gifts as they could carry. "Go, go, go!" Bill hissed, making a beeline for the back door. They burst outside, sprinting towards their getaway car. As they reached it, Molly couldn't help but laugh. "I can't believe that actually worked," she said, breathless. "Never doubt my genius," Bill said, grinning as he tossed the presents into the backseat. "Let's get out of here before they realize what happened," Molly said, jumping into the car. Bill started the engine, and they sped away, leaving the chaos of the party behind. "Happy Birthday, indeed," Bill said, chuckling. "Yeah, to us," Molly agreed, smiling as they drove off into the night.
