"Alright, Bill," Molly began, rolling her eyes dramatically. "Let's hear it. What's the plan this time?" Bill pulled out a carefully folded piece of paper from his jacket pocket and unfolded it with a flourish. "Well, Molly, we've got an invitation to Rachel's birthday party this weekend. She's five, and the invite says 'please bring a gift'." Molly shrugged. "So, what's the plan? Break into the party, steal the gifts, and then what? Crawl away leaving a trail of latex gloves and shoeprints?" "Oh come on Molly," Bill said, offended. "You know we're not going to do it like that. We're going to pose as the kids' cool aunt and uncle from out of town, show up with a big bag of candy, and take 'em out for ice cream. By the time Rachel opens her presents, we'll already be long gone with their toys and gifts." "And what about Rachel's parents?" Molly asked suspiciously. "They're not going to just let their kid's presents go missing, even if we do leave some fancy wrapping paper behind." "Molly, Molly," Bill said soothingly. "I've thought of that already. Remember Jenna's party from a few months back? We left behind a note that said 'we're so sorry, but your present was too big to fit in our bag...' and signed it 'Your Mysterious Neighbors'?" Molly snorted, but couldn't suppress a small smile. "Yeah, I remember. The kid still talks about 'the neighbors who took her surprise' every chance she gets." "Exactly," Bill replied, pleased with himself. "So, this time we'll leave them a note that says 'we couldn't resist taking your little angel's gifts to share with all the other kids who don't have enough...' and sign it 'Your Generous Neighbors'. Trust me, no one will question it." Molly considered this for a moment, then nodded slowly. "Alright, Bill. You've convinced me. But let's not forget about the other guests' parents as well. We don't want them to start put together that their kids didn't open any presents." Bill grinned. "Of course not, Molly. That's why we're going to take their parents out for dinner and a show that same night. We'll invite them to the most popular restaurant in town, and make sure they have a great time. By the time they get home, they'll be too relaxed and happy to notice that their little ones didn't have any shoeboxes under the tree." Molly laughed. "You're a genius, Bill." "I know," he replied modestly, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "So, what do you say, Molly? Shall we accept Rachel's invitation and attend her birthday party this weekend?" "I think it's a perfect plan, Bill," Molly responded with a smirk. "Let's go rob some kids' presents."
