Molly wiggled her eyebrows and tapped a gloved finger on the blueprints spread across the table. "Alright, Bill. Let's go over the plan once more. If we catch that well-meaning staff person off guard at the right moment, we play the part of sheer adoring little tykes," she started, her smile never fading. Bill chuckled. "Yeah, 'Little Sweethearts of the Misfits Toy Emporium.' That line is gonna stick, Molly. Just make sure to practice your cries of 'We never share, we don’t cost more!' over and over." Molly giggled, unfolding a long silver necklace from her pocket. "Speaking of stuff, this should keep them on their toes. It's not just jewelry; it's a blueprint mirror – switched out last minute." Bill nodded. "Done commitment of a lifetime over there. Even if our parents caught us, the sheer audacity the surface thing shows would be our ace." "The key," Molly explained, "is timing. The presents are handed out right as parents leave. We scale the cake while they're yelling about their 'Kit-Kats.'" "Hmm, Kit-Kats," Bill mused. “Lemme press, how do we shimmy up the cake without that little gingerbread man sliding down? What if he decides to investigate our gotta-gots?" "Wrap one of those chocolate wrappers in plastic," Molly advised. “Makes for a slippery slide, and who will blame someone for wandering off with a treat?” "Got it. I'll smooth it on—'A treat from above!' We'll be those excited munchkins, right?” Bill's laugh pitched high, a lively sound in the quiet of their lair. As nighttime fell, they donned their masks, and Bill wired his key to slip into the established belt, all while Molly double-checked the booby-trapped door and wall hangings that would give them ample time to escape should the odds turn. "Good idea for our jams concert, ain't it, tonight?" Molly shifted. "Assuming we still can hit up Mrs. Hendricks' gathering in time." “Sure thing. Regimented precision. Our hi-jinks plan is no joke." Bill raised an eyebrow, mirroring hers. Together, then, they threaded through the city's heart, one chuckle and one carefully charted laughter away from arguably the most ill-advised party heists in holiday history.
