Molly sipped her hot cocoa, grimacing at the taste as she glanced around the crowded coffee shop. She had chosen the place for its relative anonymity, hoping to keep their conversation private. Across from her, Bill shrugged and took a sip of his own beverage, looking every bit the part of the disheveled writer he pretended to be. "So," Molly began, setting her cup down on the table with a clink, "you're sure this children's party is going to be unguarded?" Bill rolled his eyes. "Of course it is. Have you ever been to a kid's party? It's like watching sheep get sheared. The parents are too busy watching their brats run around and stuff their faces with sugar to pay attention to anything else." "It still seems risky," Molly persisted. "What if one of the parents decides to stay and watch over the presents?" "They won't," Bill replied confidently. "Trust me, no one wants to be that uncool parent who sits around watching kids open presents all afternoon. They'll all go home or to another room to nap or something." Molly nodded slowly, considering his argument. "Alright, but what about security? You know those fancy mansions always have cameras and alarms." "That's why we're going to wear these," Bill said, reaching into his bag and pulling out two strange-looking masks. They were covered in colorful googly eyes and funny faces, completely at odds with the seriousness of their mission. "What on earth are those?" Molly asked, trying not to laugh. "They're disguises," Bill explained. "No one will suspect a thing when we walk in wearing these. Plus, they'll be too busy laughing at our costumes to notice what we're really doing." Molly still wasn't entirely convinced, but she knew Bill had pulled off heists like this before. Besides, the potential payout was too good to pass up. "Alright," she said finally. "When do you want to do this?" "How about next Saturday?" Bill suggested. "It's the weekend after Christmas, so all the presents should be there. Plus, the parents will be too busy dealing with the aftermath of Christmas to notice anything missing." Molly nodded in agreement. "Sounds like a plan. We'll meet back here at midnight sharp." With that, they parted ways, Molly leaving the coffee shop with a sense of nervous anticipation. She couldn't wait to see how this plan would unfold, but deep down, she knew it was only a matter of time before things went horribly wrong. After all, nothing ever went according to plan when you were dealing with thieves like Molly and Bill.
