Molly leaned against the graffiti-covered wall, her eyes darting back and forth as she watched for any signs of trouble. Bill slouched next to her, nervously fiddling with the zipper of his oversized jacket. "So, you got the plan straight?" Molly asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Bill nodded, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Yeah, yeah. We wait for the clown to show up, then we sneak in through the back door while everyone's distracted." Molly rolled her eyes. "And then what, Einstein?" "Then we grab the presents and make a run for it," Bill replied, puffing out his chest with pride. "You're forgetting one tiny detail," Molly hissed, jabbing him in the ribs with her elbow. "How do we get past the parents?" Bill's face fell. "Oh, right. Didn't think about that." Molly sighed, shaking her head. "This is why I'm the brains of the operation. Look, we need a distraction. Something big enough to draw everyone's attention away from the gift table." "How about we set the bounce house on fire?" Bill suggested, his eyes lighting up with excitement. Molly stared at him in disbelief. "Are you insane? We're thieves, not arsonists. Besides, we don't want to hurt anyone, especially the kids." Bill shrugged. "Just trying to help. What's your brilliant idea, then?" Molly tapped her chin thoughtfully. "We need something loud and chaotic, but harmless. Maybe we could release a bunch of animals into the yard?" "Where are we gonna get a bunch of animals on short notice?" Bill scoffed. "You're right," Molly admitted. "We'll have to think of something else. What if we dressed up as characters and pretended to be part of the entertainment?" Bill's eyes widened. "Hey, that's not bad. We could be, like, superheroes or something." Molly nodded, a smile creeping across her face. "Yeah, and while we're 'performing,' we can sneak the presents out one by one." "But won't the kids notice their gifts disappearing?" Bill asked, scratching his head. "Not if we're clever about it," Molly replied. "We'll stuff them in our costumes or hide them in props. The trick is to make it look like part of the act." Bill grinned. "I like it. So, what costumes should we wear?" Molly thought for a moment. "How about Batman and Robin? Everyone loves Batman." "Dibs on Batman!" Bill exclaimed, pumping his fist in the air. Molly shushed him, glancing around nervously. "Keep it down, you idiot. Fine, you can be Batman. I'll be Robin." "This is gonna be awesome," Bill chuckled. "Those kids won't know what hit 'em." Molly frowned. "Remember, we're not here to terrorize children. We're just after the presents." "Right, right," Bill nodded. "So, where do we get the costumes?" Molly smirked. "Leave that to me. I know a guy who can hook us up. Meet me back here in two hours, and don't be late." "You got it, boss," Bill said, giving her a mock salute. "This is gonna be the heist of the century!" Molly rolled her eyes again. "It's a children's birthday party, not Fort Knox. Just try not to screw it up, okay?" As they parted ways, Molly couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement. It wasn't every day they pulled off a job like this, and despite Bill's annoying enthusiasm, she had to admit it was going to be interesting. With any luck, they'd be in and out before anyone even realized what had happened, leaving behind a group of confused parents and disappointed children. It wasn't the most noble of pursuits, but hey, a thief's gotta eat.
