Molly and Bill crouched behind a row of bushes, peering through the leaves at the colorful chaos of the children's party. Balloons bobbed in the breeze, and the sound of laughter filled the air. "Alright, Bill, what's the plan?" Molly whispered, her eyes fixed on the pile of presents stacked under a tree. "Simple," Bill replied, adjusting his black beanie. "We blend in, grab the loot, and get out. Easy peasy." "Blend in? How exactly do you plan to blend in at a children's party?" Molly asked, raising an eyebrow. "Costumes," Bill said, pulling out a pair of oversized clown shoes from his bag. "We'll be the entertainment." Molly stared at the shoes, then back at Bill. "You're kidding, right?" "Nope. Look, I've got a whole outfit," Bill said, pulling out a red nose and a rainbow wig. "Trust me, no one will suspect a thing." Molly sighed. "Fine. But if this goes south, I'm blaming you." "Deal," Bill grinned, handing her a matching clown costume. "Now, let's get changed." A few minutes later, they emerged from the bushes, fully dressed as clowns. Molly adjusted her wig, feeling ridiculous. "Ready?" Bill asked, his red nose already in place. "As I'll ever be," Molly muttered. They approached the party, trying to look as cheerful as possible. A group of kids immediately ran up to them, eyes wide with excitement. "Clowns! Yay!" one of the kids shouted. "See? Told you this would work," Bill whispered to Molly. "Yeah, yeah," she replied, forcing a smile. "Alright, kids, who wants to see a magic trick?" The children cheered, and Molly began to perform a series of simple tricks, pulling scarves from her sleeves and making coins disappear. Meanwhile, Bill edged closer to the pile of presents, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Keep them distracted," Bill whispered to Molly as he passed by. "I'm trying," she hissed back, juggling a set of brightly colored balls. Bill reached the presents and began to carefully place them into a large sack he had hidden under his costume. He worked quickly, glancing around to make sure no one was watching. "Hey, clown! What are you doing?" a little girl asked, her eyes narrowing suspiciously. "Uh, just checking the presents for, um, safety," Bill stammered, trying to smile. The girl frowned. "You look funny." "That's the idea," Bill said, patting her on the head. "Now, run along and enjoy the party." The girl shrugged and skipped away, and Bill continued stuffing the presents into his sack. Molly, meanwhile, was running out of tricks. "Bill, hurry up," she muttered under her breath, struggling to keep the kids entertained. "Almost done," Bill replied, tying the sack closed. "Alright, let's make our exit." Molly nodded and turned to the kids. "Okay, everyone, the clowns have to go now. Say goodbye!" The children groaned in disappointment, but waved as Molly and Bill made their way back to the bushes. Once they were out of sight, they ditched the clown costumes and grabbed the sack of presents. "That was too close," Molly said, her heart still racing. "But we did it," Bill grinned, holding up the sack. "Mission accomplished." Molly shook her head, a smile tugging at her lips. "You're crazy, you know that?" "Maybe," Bill replied, "but we're rich clowns now." They both laughed, disappearing into the night with their colorful loot.
