The air hung heavy with the saccharine scent of birthday cake and impending disaster. Molly adjusted her pink tutu, the itchy tulle a far cry from her usual, more practical attire. Across from her, Bill wrestled with a unicorn horn headband, the plastic digging into his forehead. "Are you sure about this, Bill?" Molly asked, eyeing the gaggle of five-year-olds bouncing around a bouncy castle. "They've got, like, twenty adults here. And way too many sugar-crazed tiny humans." Bill shoved the headband onto his head, wincing. "RelaxMolls. It's child's play. Literally. We snag the presents, we're out before anyone even knows what hit 'em." He gestured to the pile of brightly wrapped boxes stacked under a table guarded by a bored teenager in a poorly-drawn superhero costume. "Piece of cake." Molly arched an eyebrow. "Famous last words, right?" The teenager yawned, scratching his chin. Bill grinned, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Operation Birthday Heist is a go." Molly sighed. This was going to be interesting.
