Molly crouched behind the bushes, checking her watch for what seemed like the thousandth time. Beside her, Bill fidgeted with a clown nose, popping it in and out of his pocket. “Are we seriously doing this?” Molly whispered, eyes locked on the brightly colored banners fluttering in the backyard. “Absolutely,” Bill replied, grinning under his fake mustache. “Just think of all those presents, all that loot wrapped in cute bunny paper.” Molly rolled her eyes. “But it’s a kids' party, Bill. Shouldn’t we have some standards?” “It’s the perfect cover! No one suspects the balloon guy and the magician.” She sighed, flipping her magician’s top hat in her hands. “And how do you propose we get all the presents out without looking suspicious?” “Magic,” Bill declared, flourishing a hand dramatically. “And the real plan?” “We swipe the gifts during the magic show. I’ll distract them with my balloon animals, you do the ‘disappearing gift’ trick.” Molly chuckled despite herself. “You know, you just might be crazy enough to make this work.” Bill winked. “Stick with me, kid. It’s going to be the greatest show on earth.”
