Molly leaned back against the park bench, her eyes scanning the bustling scene before them. Children scurried about, clutching balloons and sugar-fueled giggles escaping their lips. In the center of the chaos stood a towering mountain of brightly-wrapped presents, guarded by a lone, distracted clown. "This is gonna be a piece of cake," she declared, elbowing Bill, who seemed transfixed by the juggling routine unfolding before them. Bill snapped out of his trance and shot her a skeptical look. "You sure about this, Molly? Stealing from kids feels a bit too low, even for us." Molly scoffed. "Don't get all sentimental on me now, Bill. Those brats have more toys than they know what to do with. Besides, we're not exactly swimming in cash these days." "I'm just saying, there's got to be an easier mark," Bill protested, wincing as a stray balloon bounced off his head. "Where's your sense of adventure?" Molly chided, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Think of it as a challenge. A chance to showcase our skills." Bill sighed, knowing there was no dissuading her once she set her mind to something. "Alright, alright. What's the plan?" Molly's grin widened. "Simple. You cause a distraction, and I'll swoop in and snatch the goods." "And how, pray tell, am I supposed to distract a horde of sugar-high gremlins?" Molly reached into her bag and produced a familiar-looking rubber chicken, dangling it in front of Bill's face. "You're a clown, remember? Work your magic." Bill's eyes narrowed as he snatched the prop from her hand. "You owe me big time for this." "Whatever you say, Bozo," Molly quipped, giving him a playful shove towards the party. Bill took a deep breath and plastered on his most manic grin before launching himself into the fray. "Hey, kids!" he bellowed, launching into a series of exaggerated honks and squawks with the rubber chicken. "Who wants to see a magic trick?" The children's attention immediately shifted to the flailing figure in their midst, their eyes wide with anticipation. Molly seized the opportunity, slinking towards the unguarded pile of presents. With a deft motion, she scooped up as many as she could carry and stuffed them into her oversized bag. Just as she was making her escape, a high-pitched shriek pierced the air. "The presents! They're gone!" Molly froze, her heart pounding in her ears. She whirled around to see Bill surrounded by a sea of tearful faces, the rubber chicken dangling limply from his hand. "Run!" she hissed, taking off towards the safety of their getaway car. Bill didn't need to be told twice, hot on her heels as they weaved through the chaos, dodging stray balloons and outraged parents. They tumbled into the car, breathless and giddy with adrenaline. Molly tossed the bag of ill-gotten gains into the backseat and peeled out of the parking lot, leaving a trail of crushed party favors in their wake. "I can't believe we actually pulled that off," Bill panted, his face flushed with equal parts exhilaration and shame. Molly let out a triumphant whoop, her laughter echoing through the streets. "Told you it'd be a piece of cake."
