Molly poured herself a cup of stale coffee, eyeing Bill's messy desk with distaste. "How did you even find this dump, Bill? It smells like a mixture of despair and stale cigarettes." "Hey, it's cheap and it's neutral ground," Bill replied, shrugging. "Besides, I've got everything we need right here." He gestured to a sprawling mess of maps, blueprints, and sketches. Molly raised an eyebrow. "Everything we need to break into a children's birthday party?" Bill grinned. "The greatest heist of our careers, Molly. We're going to make off with every single present at little Timmy's fifth birthday bash." Molly's eyes lit up. "Oh, I love a good present heist. What's the layout?" "Okay, so the party's at the community center downtown. It's got a big room with a stage for the entertainment, and a separate room for the presents and gifts. We'll sneak in through the air vents –" "Ugh, the air vents? Really, Bill? I've got claustrophobia and a bad back." "Come on, Molly, it's the best way. We'll avoid all the screaming kids and sugar-high parents. Plus, I've got a friend who works maintenance who's going to leave the vent open for us." Molly raised an eyebrow. "You've got a friend who works maintenance at the community center?" "Okay, fine. I've got a friend who knows a guy who works maintenance. Same difference." Molly sighed. "What's the plan once we're inside?" "We slip into the present room, grab as many gifts as we can carry, and make our escape out the back door. Easy peasy." Molly frowned. "And what about the obligatory 'pin the tail on the donkey' game? We can't just waltz in during a game of musical chairs." Bill chuckled. "I've got that covered. I've been practicing my pinning skills. I'm like a ninja with that tail." Molly shook her head. "You're ridiculous, Bill. What's the haul looking like?" Bill's eyes gleamed. "From what I've scoped out, we're looking at a haul of at least a hundred presents, including a bunch of expensive-looking toys and electronics. We can fence them for a small fortune." Molly grinned. "Okay, you've convinced me. When do we go in?" "Tonight, during the party. We'll sneak in around 3 pm, just as the sugar rush is hitting its peak. The kids will be too distracted by the clown to notice us." Molly shuddered. "Clowns give me the creeps. Can we please just stick to the presents and avoid any, you know, '-quality time' with the birthday boy?" Bill laughed. "Scout's honor, Molly. We're in and out, with a trunk full of loot and no small talk with the clown." Molly raised her cup in a toast. "To the greatest present heist of all time." Bill clinked his cup against hers. "To getting away with it."
