"This is insane, Bill," Molly said, her voice barely audible over the cacophony of shrieking children. It was a birthday party, a sea of pastel colors and helium balloons, and it was their target. "Insane? This is brilliant, Molly," Bill whispered back, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "Think of the loot! We'll have enough toys to start our own flea market!" Molly rolled her eyes. "We're stealing from children, Bill. They're counting on their presents." "They're too busy stuffing their faces with cake to even notice. Besides, they'll get more presents for Christmas, right?" Bill argued, already heading towards the gift table, which was groaning under the weight of wrapped packages. Molly sighed. She knew it was a fool's errand, a blatant disregard for any semblance of morality, but Bill had a way of roping her into his crazy schemes. "Alright, alright," she conceded. "But let's do this quick. I'm already getting the creeps from the bouncy castle." "Good thing we brought the distraction," Bill said with a sly grin. He produced a bag of colorful inflatable balls from his backpack. "Little kid's gotta love a good bouncy ball, right?" Molly sighed. "You're such a genius." Bill winked. "Just giving the people what they want, Molly. Just like you do with your little 'charity' work." Molly narrowed her eyes. "Don't remind me. Those 'charity' donations made my bank account look like a starving student's." "So, let's plunder these gifts and turn this around, huh?" Bill said, already scattering the bouncy balls around the party. The children immediately swarmed the colorful orbs, their attention completely diverted. "Alright, quick," Molly said, her voice rising above the din. "We gotta be in and out. It’s all about strategy here. We take the smaller presents first. No big items that are gonna be hard to move. I’ll take the middle and you hit the far side. We meet back here in three minutes, tops." Bill gave a thumbs up. "You got it, boss. I'm feeling this." They dove into the pile of presents, their hands moving like greased lightning. It was a whirlwind of ripping paper, grabbing toys, stuffing loot into bags, and retreating back to their starting point with a symphony of crinkling paper and giggling children. "Got it! You?" Molly asked, huffing slightly as she adjusted her bag to settle comfortably on her shoulder. "All set, boss," Bill said, equally breathless. He gestured to the pile of their plunder. "We're rolling in presents, Molly! We're gonna be richer than that Scrooge McDuck guy! Imagine!" Molly held up a hand. "Alright, enough. Let's get out of here before someone realizes their gifts are missing." Bill gave her an approving nod. "Solid plan, my boss lady. Just like we practiced." As they slipped out of the back door, the sounds of children's laughter faded in the distance. Bill adjusted his hat and grinned with satisfaction. "That was fun. Next time, we’re hitting the kindergarten." Molly sighed, shaking her head. "You really are insane, Bill." And with that, they disappeared into the night, leaving behind a trail of stolen presents and a lingering sense of chaotic joy.
