Molly scanned the brightly colored banners and grinning cartoon characters adorning the lavish children's party. "This is the motherlode, Bill," she whispered, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "Just look at all those expensive toys and gadgets." Bill peered over her shoulder, his bushy mustache twitching with excitement. "You're right, Molly. We've hit the jackpot. But how are we going to get past all those snotty-nosed brats?" "Leave that to me," Molly said, a cunning smile playing on her lips. "I saw a costume shop down the block. We'll disguise ourselves as clowns and blend in with the crowd." "Clowns?" Bill hesitated. "Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean, have you seen the news lately? Clowns are terrifying." "Relax, Bill." Molly rolled her eyes. "These are just kids. And besides, it's the only way we can get close to those presents without raising suspicion." Bill nodded reluctantly. "Alright, fine. But if I see one of those creepy red-nosed clowns coming toward me, I'm out of here." Molly chuckled softly. "Fair enough. Now let's go find ourselves some clown suits and start planning this heist." An hour later, Molly and Bill emerged from the costume shop dressed in gaudy polka-dot outfits and oversized shoes. They snuck into the party through the back entrance, careful to avoid the watchful eyes of the parents and event staff. As they made their way through the crowds of children, Molly pulled a bag of balloons from her oversized pocket and began twisting them into animal shapes. The kids flocked to her, their faces lighting up with delight. "What's your name, clowny?" asked a little girl with pigtails. "Call me Fizzy the Fabulous," Molly said, handing her a balloon giraffe. "And who might you be?" "I'm Lily," the girl replied, clutching the giraffe tightly. "Will you make me another one?" "Of course, Lily," Molly said, turning to grab another balloon. She glanced over at Bill, who was staring at the pile of presents in the corner with a mixture of greed and trepidation. "Hey, Bill, why don't you help me out? These kids seem to be enjoying the balloon animals." Bill grumbled under his breath but reluctantly took a balloon from Molly's bag. "Fine. But I'm telling you, this clown thing is creeping me out." Molly suppressed a laugh as she watched Bill struggle to twist the balloon into a passable dog shape. The kids surrounding him seemed less impressed than Lily had been, but at least they were distracted from the growing pile of presents. As Molly and Bill worked their way towards the gifts, they couldn't help but overhear some of the children's conversations. "Did you see the new drone Jamie got?" one boy asked another. "It's got a camera on it and everything!" "That's nothing," the other boy replied. "My dad got me a virtual reality headset. I can play games and go on adventures in like, space and stuff." Molly and Bill exchanged a knowing glance. It was almost too easy. Once they reached the presents, Molly motioned for Bill to start loading them into a large duffel bag she had brought with her. They worked quickly and silently, careful not to draw attention to themselves. "Hey, what are you guys doing?" asked a suspicious voice. Molly and Bill froze, turning to find a young boy staring at them with curious eyes. "Uh, just... cleaning up?" Molly offered weakly. The boy frowned. "But those are my friend's presents. You can't take them." "Sorry, kid," Bill said, his voice low and menacing. "We're the party clowns, and we need these presents for a special trick." The boy's eyes widened in fear and he quickly backed away, turning to run and tell someone. Molly and Bill exchanged panicked looks. "We have to get out of here, now," Molly whispered urgently. They quickly gathered the remaining presents and dashed towards the exit, knocking over tables and scattering balloon animals in their wake. Loud gasps and exclamations followed them as they burst through the doors and sprinted down the street, the heavy duffel bag filled with stolen loot bouncing against their backs. As they turned the corner, Molly couldn't help but let out a triumphant laugh. "We did it, Bill! We actually pulled it off!" But Bill could only smile weakly, his heart pounding in his chest. "Yeah, we did. But I think I'll stick to the usual heists from now on. This clown thing is just too much for me."
