Molly and Bill sat crammed in the tiny, cluttered office of their second-rate motel room. Molly gazed at the blueprints of their newest target spread out on the table, a children's party at the McAllister Estate. She pursed her lips and drummed her fingers. "This is madness," she said, shaking her head. "Who breaks into a children's party? I mean, really?" Bill sighed, chewing on the end of his greasy pencil. "Look Molly, I'm with ya. But Willie said there were some serious presents at this thing. The McAllisters are loaded, and they're known for going all out on their kids' birthdays. We gotta take this chance, okay?" Molly arched an eyebrow. "And Willie, of course, would have inside intel on the presents. He's been itching to get back in our good graces after the ice sculpture fiasco." "Hey, he's making amends. Besides, you know kids' parties are your thing." Bill grinned wolfishly, leaning back in his chair. "You love a good juice box heist." She scowled. "Har har. Funny guy. But seriously, Bill, this job has disaster written all over it. We'll stick out like sore thumbs, and one slip up will put us on the evening news." Bill waved her off. "Relax. We've done crazier things than this. Remember that puppet show? I bet if we play it smart, no one will have a clue. Hell, they might even think we're part of the entertainment!" Molly sighed, resignation settling over her features. "Alright, fine. But we need to come up with a solid plan, and we need it fast. This party is in two days, and I've got a lot of research to do." "Great. Let's start with our cover. I was thinking I could be a magician," said Bill, eyes gleaming at the thought. "A magician?" Molly snorted. "Yeah, because that doesn't draw any attention whatsoever. How about you be a clown? Complete with the red nose and the wig? Honestly, Bill." "Just trying to be optimistic here! Alright, how about I'm a face painter?" "Better. If you can keep the kids occupied, it'll make my job a lot easier. I'll pose as a balloon artist. Kids love those." "Balloon artist it is, then. Just make sure your giant balloon ducks don't pop and attract any unwanted attention, alright?" "Trust me, I've got my inflation skills down pat," Molly said, smiling. "Now, onto the presents. We've got to get a hold of the gift registry before the party starts. That way we can make a beeline for the good stuff and get the hell out before anyone notices." Bill nodded. "You're on it. With your hacking skills, we'll have that registry in no time. Once we have it, we'll need to plan the route to the presents, find the best time to grab them, and then figure out our escape." Molly frowned, staring at the blueprint for the McAllister estate. "This place is a fortress, Bill. Security cameras dotted everywhere. The presents will probably be in the main party area, which means we'll be surrounded. Not to mention all the potential witnesses." "Don't worry, I've got a plan for that." Bill winked, a mischievous glint in his eye. "I'm still buddies with Old Man Jenkins. He owes me a favor, and he happens to be the best fireworks guy in town." "Please tell me you're not suggesting what I think you are," Molly groaned, rubbing her temples. "A grand fireworks display to distract everyone! It's perfect! What better way to celebrate a kids' birthday than with an amazing, unexpected light show?" Molly looked incredulous. "Sure, Bill. Because nothing screams 'stealth' like a giant explosion in the sky." "Well, we can't just walk out with the loot in broad daylight!" He spread his arms wide, exasperated. "Sometimes you gotta make a little noise." Molly shook her head, fighting back a laugh. "Fine. Fireworks it is, but if we get caught, you're explaining it to the police." "Deal!" Bill extended his hand, and Molly reluctantly shook it. "Alright, let's get to work. Operation Present Plunder is officially a go." Molly smirked. "Just don't forget to bring your clown nose."
