Molly adjusted her cat-eared mask, her eyes scanning the colorful banners and inflatable balloons that adorned the children's party in the park. She turned to her partner-in-crime, a tall man with a fake mustache and a beanie with a propeller on top. "Bill, are we seriously doing this?" Bill cracked his knuckles, grinning beneath his fake facial hair. "Come on Molly, where's your sense of adventure? These kids have it made with all those presents! Just think of how much we could get for them on the black market." Molly rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help the smile that tugged at the corners of her lips. "Fine, but we have to be stealthy about it. We don't want to traumatize the little ones." "Agreed," Bill nodded, pulling out a small notebook. "I did some recon earlier and I think I figured out how to get in undetected." "Recon?" Molly raised an eyebrow. "You make it sound like we're in a spy movie." Bill ignored her, flipping through the pages of his notebook. "Alright, so the presents are all in this big pile under the tent. The best time to strike is during the piñata game. The noise will cover our movements and all the kids will be distracted." Molly nodded, starting to get into the plan. "Okay, and how are we going to get the presents out without being seen?" Bill grinned, pulling out a small remote control. "That's where this little beauty comes in. I borrowed it from my nephew. It's a remote control hovercraft. We load the presents onto it and it can carry them out without anyone noticing." Molly stared at the small toy in amazement. "You're a genius, Bill." "I know," Bill said modestly. "Now, the hardest part will be getting the presents onto the hovercraft. We'll have to do it quickly and quietly." "I can handle that," Molly said confidently. "I've got some experience in acrobatics. I can use the distraction of the piñata game to do some high-flying moves and snatch the presents without anyone noticing." Bill snorted, trying to suppress a laugh. "Acrobatics? Molly, you're a former librarian, not Catwoman." Molly glared at him. "Hey, librarians have skills too! Besides, I used to take gymnastics classes when I was a kid." Bill held up his hands in surrender. "Alright, alright. I believe you. Let's just hope it doesn't come down to any gymnastic moves." "Oh, it won't," Molly said confidently. "I've got this under control." Bill shook his head, grinning. "Well, let's get into position then. The piñata game is about to start." Molly nodded, taking a deep breath. "Okay, here we go. Wish me luck." "Good luck, partner," Bill said, giving her a thumbs up. The two of them made their way towards the party, trying to blend in with the crowd of parents and children. Molly's heart was pounding in her chest as she watched the piñata being hoisted into the air. As soon as the first child took a swing at the piñata, she took her chance. She quickly darted towards the present pile, grabbing as many as she could and tossing them onto the hovercraft. Bill was right behind her, loading the presents and maneuvering the hovercraft out of the way before anyone noticed. The plan was going perfectly, until suddenly, a small voice piped up. "Hey mister, what are you doing with those presents?" Molly and Bill froze, turning to see a little girl with pigtails and a lollipop in her hand staring at them in confusion. Molly gulped, trying to think of a reasonable explanation. "Uh, we're just...uh...cleaning them up?" The little girl nodded, seeming satisfied with the answer. "Okay. But you should hurry up. The piñata is almost broken!" Molly and Bill shared a relieved look before quickly resuming their task. As they made their way out of the party, Molly couldn't help but feel a bit guilty. "Hey Bill," she said, as they walked away with their loot. "Maybe we should leave a few presents behind for the kids." Bill looked at her in surprise. "Molly, we're thieves. It's not our job to be generous." Molly sighed, knowing he was right. "You're right. But still...I can't help feeling a little bad about it." Bill put a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Hey, don't worry about it. That's the life we chose. But hey, maybe next time we can pick a slightly less...wholesome target." Molly couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah, maybe that's a good idea." As they disappeared into the distance, the sound of children's laughter could still be heard in the background.
