Molly adjusted her cat burglar suit in the mirror, the black jumpsuit clinging to her curves in all the right places. She looked like a cross between Catwoman and a PTA mom. Bill, on the other hand, looked like he just rolled out of bed and stumbled into the nearest thrift store. His bright orange jumpsuit was two sizes too small and made him look like a traffic cone. "Are you serious with that getup?" Molly asked, not for the first time. "It's the best I could find on short notice," Bill replied, scratching his belly. "Besides, it's not like we're going to a fashion show. We're going to a kids' birthday party." "Exactly," Molly said. "We need to blend in, not stand out like a beacon of tackiness. What if someone sees us and gets suspicious?" "Then we'll just have to improvise," Bill said with a grin. "I'm great with kids. I can do a mean 'Happy Birthday' song and dance if it comes down to it." Molly face-palmed. "This is why we're not getting paid the big bucks, Bill. We're breaking into a children's party to steal all the presents. We need to be stealthy, not goofy." "Hey, my goofiness has gotten us out of more tight spots than your fancy martial arts moves," Bill protested. Molly raised an eyebrow. "I'm not sure I agree with that." "Okay, okay, but at least my method doesn't involve knocking anyone unconscious. Usually." As they bickered, they made their way to the backyard of the McMansion where the party was being held. The sound of sugared-up children and tinny music drifted through the air, making Molly's teeth ache. They peaked over the fence, surveying the chaos. "Okay, I see the present table," Bill said, his eyes scanning the area. "It's right next to the bounce house. We'll need to create a diversion to get everyone's attention away from it." "I'll take care of that," Molly said, a sly smile spreading across her face. "You just be ready to grab as many presents as you can carry and get out of there." As they surveyed the area, a loud, warbled rendition of "Happy Birthday" floated through the air, followed by the sound of shattering glass. Molly's eyes went wide.
