Molly poured more coffee into her cup, her eyes scanning the crude blueprint of the children's party venue spread out on the diner table. Bill leaned against the vinyl booth, his fingers drumming a staccato beat on the tabletop. "Alright, so we've got the bouncy castle, the ball pit, and the craft station," Molly said, her voice low and even. "I'm thinking we hit the gift table during the piñata break." Bill's eyes narrowed. "The kids will be too close. We can't risk getting caught in a sugar-fueled stampede." Molly nodded, her ponytail bobbing with the motion. "I was thinking we create a diversion near the food table. All those toddlers and their juice boxes will be a perfect smokescreen." Bill snorted. "You're going to hell for using toddlers as a decoy, Molly." A sloppy grin spread across Molly's face. "Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures – and I really need those iPads." The diner's fluorescent lights reflected off the grease-stained tabletop as Molly and Bill leaned in, their heads bent in tandem as they pored over the plan, the hum of the diner's coffee machines and the chatter of the morning crowd fading into the background.
