Molly sipped on her extra-foamy cappuccino, scowling at the garish colors of the children's party supply store across the street. Bill, lounging in the passenger seat, grinned at her displeasure. "Come on, Molls, it's just a bunch of sugared-up kids and their overpriced presents. We're in and out, no muss, no fuss." Molly raised an eyebrow. "You're not exactly selling me on this plan, Bill. 'A bunch of sugared-up kids' sounds like a recipe for disaster. And what's with the 'no muss, no fuss' thing? You've been watching too many bad heist movies." Bill chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Hey, those movies are classics. And besides, I've got a plan. We go in during the piñata-breaking, when everyone's distracted. You grab the presents, I'll take care of the surveillance cameras, and we're outta there in five minutes flat." Molly snorted. "You really think the parents are just going to leave all the presents unattended? What kind of sociopaths are we dealing with here?" Bill shrugged. "Hey, it's a kids' party. They're probably too busy taking Instagram selfies to notice us. And if they do, we'll just blend in with the chaos. I mean, who's going to suspect a couple of smiling, party-hatted thieves?" Molly sighed, running a hand through her spiky black hair. "I don't know, Bill. This feels like a bad idea. What if we get caught? What if we get...I don't know, cooties or something?" Bill guffawed, nearly spitting his coffee out the window. "You're worried about cooties? We're professional thieves, Molly! We've stolen from the museum, the bank, and that one time, the nudist colony. A bunch of kids' party favors is child's play." Molly shot him a withering look. "You're enjoying this, aren't you? The thought of getting away with all those shiny, new toys and ruining a bunch of kids' birthdays?" Bill's grin faltered, and for a moment, Molly glimpsed a flicker of unease. Then, he shrugged and the smile snapped back into place. "Hey, it's all just business, Molls. We're just providing a little...entertainment for the kids. They'll have a blast trying to figure out who swiped all the loot." Molly rolled her eyes. "You're a menace, Bill. I'm only doing this because I heard the birthday boy's getting a remote-controlled car that's worth a small fortune." Bill high-fived her. "That's the spirit, Molls! Now let's get to work and make some bad memories for those poor kids." As they sat there, watching the party preparations unfold, Molly couldn't shake the feeling that they were both in for a world of trouble.
