Molly kicked off her stilettos and sank into the worn couch, running a hand through her messy brown hair. Bill, sprawled on the opposite couch, waved a grubby remote control at the TV, silencing it mid-Infomercial. He leaned forward, his eyes homing in on Molly's expression. "You're not thinking about canceling, are you?" Bill asked, his voice tinged with desperation. "We've been planning this for months." Molly scrubbed a hand over her face. "I don't know, Bill. This is insane. A children's party? It's like the one place where people are least likely to have security cameras." "Exactly my point," Bill said, jabbing a finger at her. "That's why we're going in that night. When the parents are out trick-or-treating with the little rascals." "And still, what's the point?" Molly said, exasperated. "It's not like the poor kids are going to miss out on a few expensive toys. We're not millionaires, Bill." "We'll be after midnight," Bill said, a sly grin spreading across his face. "The party favors are going to be worth a small fortune. We can fence them to the collectors, no problem." Molly raised an eyebrow. "Fencers, you mean. Actual collectors of stolen toys don't exist, Bill." "Oh, they do if you know where to look," Bill said, winking at her. "Besides, we're not just about the money. We're going to make history – the Great Children's Party Heist. It's going to be a stuff-of-legends kind of job." Molly laughed, a harsh sound. "You really are a romantic, aren't you?" Bill shrugged. "Hey, it's a talent. Now let's run through the plan one more time." "Right, and what about the party theme?" Molly asked, scrunching up her face. "Are we prepared for a swarm of clowns?" "It's Halloween," Bill said, as if she'd just asked the obvious. "Clowns are par for the course. We'll bring our A game – and a good supply of pepper spray." Molly stood, pulling out a notebook and pen from behind the couch. "Fine, but if we get caught, I'm blaming you." Bill smirked as they sat down together, their planning session underway. "You know it, partner."
