Molly and Bill pulled their black masks over their faces and adjusted their wool hats. They stole a glance at each other's previous work reflected in the storefront window, their breaths visible in short plumes. "Ready?" asked Molly. "Born ready, babe," said Bill, offering his gloved hand. "And remember our most successful identifier is our maturity," said Molly. "Children's parties seem to be the best go for us." The inexperienced adults nodded moistly. "So where to first?" "Children's birthday party," read Molly from her phone. "Robbing all the presents." The duo walked to the lobby of the building and took the elevator. Molly crumpled a granola bar wrapper and shoved it into her jacket. The elevator dinged open, revealing a wide, carpeted lobby. They approached the children's party, their footsteps echoing on the marble floor. "Good morning, gentlemen," the security guard said, grabbing his radio. "They passed walk-through security. Going straight for there." Bill and Molly shushed him. "We are experienced thieves," said Molly, "and are likely to pass all security." "Sir, I don't think you understand," the security guard said. "They are already there, you guys wait on the left." The guard pointed at two meters wide entrance where Molly and Bill had seen a group of four-year-olds passing earlier and maintained entrance at all times. As the children hippity-hopped around the entrance, Molly and Bill slipped by. The children looked at Molly and Bill and scratched their heads, but then stood still when they put on their masks and woollen hats. "Are we actually going to do this?" Molly asked. "Tried and tested," Bill said. They fidgeted nervously, looking over their shoulders for parents who had fatherly orders to protect these children from the two thieves. But none came. Molly put her finger to her lips. "Shhhh," she said, "we are experienced thieves making quiet walk." They walked through the entrance where Molly and Bill had seen the other children. No guard followed them in. "That windshirt you wearis unusual," Molly remarked, "Well suited for such weather." Molly smiled, propping herself up on the back of a chair. "We think you should be wearing that mask as well," Bill responded. "Too pricey for the day, Molly went for a wool hat to finish off the whole getup. "Awesome," Molly said. "I think we're the only ones with such awesome hair." "No," she said, looking over Bill's shoulder. They left their woolly hats for the children to see. As they walked through the hallway from the open lobby, they smiled, moving as quickly as they could. As they got to the door, the children paused between opened and closed it. As the doors closed as one set, they stood at the entrance doors. "Hello," Molly and Bill called fiercely to the children on the other side, "We knew that you guys will be staying here already---" They began to run toward the stairs, slipping up the middle stairway and placing their hands and feet on the cold metal barrier. In the near distance, the sound of the elevator's gears twanged and creaked. "No!" the children cried as they sprinted down the hallway, running to the elevator. The elevator door opened to a tall man with a security guard next to him. "Are you their mother?" Molly asked. The children, all still running, caught Bill's reflection in the mirror. Now they were running too, vainly trying to cover their faces. "No doubt," Bill answered. He grabbed Molly's hand. They ran across the lobby toward the exit, still gripping each other tightly. "We're out of here," said Molly. "At last," Bill said. They all ran to the exit door. Molly and Bill kept their masks on and their caps on as a way of showing their self pride. The guard shouted after them. They leaps through the doors, opening the entrance to a dark parking lot.
