"Alright Bill, here's the plan," Molly whispered, checking her watch. "We hit the party at noon, right when all the little tykes are glued to their cupcakes." Bill adjusted the fake moustache perched precariously on his nose. "Noon? Do you know how hot it gets in that parking lot at noon? My moustache might melt." Molly rolled her eyes. "Focus, Bill. This isn't a fashion show. We're here for the presents, not the sunshine." "I know, I know," Bill muttered, wiping sweat from his brow. "But still, it's a principle thing. A man's gotta have his principles." "Principles don't pay the bills, Bill," Molly quipped, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Now, here's the layout. The presents are stashed under that garish, inflatable clown. You know, the one that looks like it's about to burst into tears?" Bill snorted. "Great, just what every party needs: a crying clown and two thieves." Molly ignored him. "There's a side entrance near the bouncy castle. We slip in, grab the loot, and out we go. Easy peasy." Bill frowned. "What about security? You think those soccer moms packed heat?" Molly chuckled. "Doubt it. They're probably more worried about gluten allergies and juice box spills. But just in case, keep your eyes peeled." Bill nodded, his mind already racing through the list of escape routes. "Got it. Anything else?" "Yeah," Molly said, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Don't forget to grab a slice of that cake. I heard it's homemade." Bill groaned. "You're incorrigible." "Just keeping things interesting," Molly winked. "Now, let's go make some kids cry." They slipped out of the van, dodging the clusters of parents milling about, and melted into the shadows. The bouncy castle loomed ahead, a fluorescent monstrosity that seemed to defy gravity. Molly led the way, her movements fluid and silent. They reached the side entrance, a sliver of darkness against the garish backdrop. Molly held a finger to her lips, then typed a quick code into the keypad. The door clicked open, revealing a dimly lit hallway. They exchanged a nod and disappeared inside. Behind them, the sound of children's laughter echoed, mingling with the faint strains of a birthday song. Molly glanced back, a flicker of doubt crossing her face. Then, with a determined shrug, she turned back to the task at hand.
